Job Description
Position: Platform Data Engineer
Location: Goregaon East, Mumbai
Work Mode: Onsite
Years of Exp: 6+ Years
Type of Hiring: Contract
Duration: 6 Months
This is not a standard Azure Data Engineer role — it is a hybrid Platform Engineering + Enterprise Data Engineering + Cloud Architecture role.
Responsibilities:
- Translating business, data, architecture designs, requirements/models into technical implementations.
- Building dynamic metadata-driven data ingestion patterns using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
- Building and maintaining the Enterprise Data Warehouse (using Kimball methodology).
- Building and modelling source and business-focused data products in Databricks and Microsoft Fabric.
- Implementing DevOps efficiencies using SaaS/PaaS and custom tools.
- Implementing unit tests, integration testing, and debugging applications.
- Designing and managing Azure templates and components.
- Developing documentation, guidelines, and policies for data security and CI.
- Adopting Data Governance and Group Engineering practices.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience as a platform and data engineer.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and the Azure ecosystem.
- Expertise in Apache Spark, Python, and T-SQL.
- Experience with Data Warehouse modelling (Kimball, Data Vault 2.0).
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Azure Bicep, ARM, PowerShell).
- Understanding of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in Banking and Financial Services preferred.
