POSITION DESCRIPTION Job title Senior Software Engineer – Backend Department\/BU Engineering<\/p>\n

Overview: We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer (IC4) to design and deliver the core backend services for our centralized AI platform.<\/p>\n

This role bridges hands-on engineering and technical leadership \u2014 owning major components of the backend while guiding mid-level engineers.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll work closely with senior ICs and cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure, and reliable services that power our agentic framework, enabling teams across the company to deploy and manage AI agents seamlessly.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities: \u2022 Design and implement scalable RESTful API endpoints for the AI platform.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Build and optimize backend services in Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask) to handle agent lifecycle management, deployment, and monitoring.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Contribute to secure authentication and authorization systems supporting multi-tenant architecture.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Develop efficient data access layers and database schemas for AI agent operations.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Implement asynchronous task processing for long-running AI workflows.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Collaborate with IC5 engineers on backend architecture and SDK designs, contributing to technical direction while driving execution.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Provide mentorship to IC3 engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and best practices.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ensure quality and reliability through automated testing, CI\/CD pipelines, and adherence to security standards.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Stay updated on modern backend and AI\/agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, LangGraph).<\/p>\n

Relevant experience and educational requirements:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. \u2022<\/p>\n

5+ years of backend development experience, with significant experience building scalable Python applications and APIs.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proficiency with modern Python frameworks (FastAPI, Django REST Framework, Flask).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (SQLAlchemy, Django ORM).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Hands-on familiarity with distributed systems or microservices. \u2022 Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience with Git, CI\/CD workflows, and automated testing.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Exposure to agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) or strong interest in learning.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) preferred.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and influence technical decisions.<\/p>\n
