Role Purpose<\/p>\n

The purpose of the Solution Architect role is to:<\/p>\n

\u2022 \u2022 Define end-to-end solutions for IT change<\/p>\n

\u2022 \u2022 Create designs that are fit for purpose from a functional, non-functional, service, and security point of view<\/p>\n

\u2022 \u2022 Deliver solutions that progress the overall architecture journey and are aligned to Our customer\u2019s IT Strategy<\/p>\n

\u2022 \u2022 Comply with standards, design approaches and governance<\/p>\n

Accountabilities<\/p>\n

Nature of Work<\/p>\n

\u2022 Solutions and Assurance o Create solutions and design for projects to meet Our customer\u2019s standards for technology and ensure they meet our ambitions for availability, security, resilience and performance<\/p>\n

o Produce design options with associated costs, benefits and risks to enable investment decisions<\/p>\n

o Work with product owners, architects, platform teams and other project colleagues to agree trade-offs between, long-term and short term goals<\/p>\n

o Responsible for the integrity of the end-to-end solution across Platforms, including transition states used to achieve the target state<\/p>\n

o Shape and estimate IT initiatives and feature team sprints, ensuring that component parts deliver against business outcomes<\/p>\n

\u2022 Technical Leadership o Provide leadership on key designs to ensure the long term strategic goals of Our customer IT are met as well as short term project needs<\/p>\n

o Ensure design artefacts are produced to support stakeholder group for service, security, architecture and engineering<\/p>\n

o Peer review the design artefacts of others<\/p>\n

o Provide coaching, mentoring and training to less experienced team members as required<\/p>\n

\u2022 Design Community membership o Contribute to the Solution Architecture community across Our customer Group leading on or participating in initiatives to improve Our customer\u2019s approach to design<\/p>\n

o Develop your technical skills to support Our customer\u2019s need to understand and exploit emerging technology trends<\/p>\n

Risk & Controls<\/p>\n

\u2022 Identify, own and manage the specific key risks and\/or IT controls and BP standards that you are identified as the owner and\/or nominee for on iCARE or Archer o Ensure that issues and actions associated to controls \/ risks are remediated in a timely manner<\/p>\n

o Maintain appropriate records on iCARE or Archer<\/p>\n

o Ensure that controls are sufficiently well designed and operating effectively to keep the risks that they mitigate within Our customer’s tolerance level<\/p>\n

\u2022 Report and escalate the status of the relevant risks, controls and standards as appropriate<\/p>\n

\u2022 \u2022 Strong technical experience. This maybe broad experience with the ability to apply it across a variety of customer and business scenarios; or strong domain specialisms to maximise the benefit of technology in key areas e.g. Infrastructure, Business Intelligence, Pensions.<\/p>\n
