Job Description<\/p>\n

JOB TITLE: SCADA\/MES Developer<\/p>\n

DEPARTMENT: IT<\/p>\n

LOCATION: Indianapolis<\/p>\n

REPORTS TO: IT Manager – Manufacturing<\/p>\n

:SCOPE<\/p>\n

The SCADA Developer will design, code, test, and analyze manufacturing software programs and<\/p>\n

applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications<\/p>\n

throughout the production lifecycle. The SCADA\/MES Developer will also analyze and amend software<\/p>\n

errors, provide general system administrative support in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide status<\/p>\n

reports where required. The majority of the development is targeted at application integration and filling<\/p>\n

in gaps where existing systems, tools, and off the shelf applications do not meet business needs.<\/p>\n

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n

Strategy & Planning<\/p>\n

\u2022 Meet with business partners to determine business, functional and technical requirements and<\/p>\n

participate in application design, configuration, testing and deployment.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternatives and on the implications of new or<\/p>\n

revised processing analysis.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Work within cross-functional teams outside of IT to determine integration points for data capture<\/p>\n

and efficient automation control of manufacturing resources.<\/p>\n

Acquisition & Deployment<\/p>\n

\u2022 Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and<\/p>\n

standards in support of procurement and development efforts.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Plan phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for a variety of projects.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Perform administrative functions such as user creation, security management, configuration, and<\/p>\n

other customizations of the applications needed to keep the systems highly available.<\/p>\n

Operational Management<\/p>\n

\u2022 Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to<\/p>\n

specifications.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Utilize best practices to perform operational support, code enhancements, bug fixes as needed to<\/p>\n

the suite of applications and necessary integrations.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Install and upgrade software products for end users as required.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Be hands-on in producing tangible deliverables (requirements specifications, design deliverables,<\/p>\n

coding, unit testing, status reports, project plans).<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n

\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s Degree with STEM focus (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems) or related<\/p>\n

\u2022 Previous work experience delivering business application solutions and integrations with a bias to<\/p>\n

best leverage existing applications and tools<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects<\/p>\n

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience as a SCADA developer, SCADA Engineer, MES Engineer, Process Control Engineer,<\/p>\n

Automation Engineer, Controls Engineer, or other similarly related duties<\/p>\n

\u2022 HMI\/SCADA (Ignition) experience integrating with data provided by PLC and corporate systems<\/p>\n

such as ERP\u2019s and WMS\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience with programming languages such as Python, Expression Language, SQL strongly<\/p>\n

desired.\u2022 Experience with and\/or Understanding of the following:<\/p>\n

o Utilizing integrations (REST, SOAP, XML-RPC, JSON-RPC APIs, Web Services) and how to<\/p>\n

produce\/consume data from various systems<\/p>\n

o Working on enterprise scale Digital Transformation\/Industry 4.0 initiatives<\/p>\n

o Understands OEE concepts and able to apply into an MES platform<\/p>\n

o Working knowledge of Track and Trace technologies and concepts and MES application<\/p>\n

o Understands ERP and WMS systems as it pertains to workflow of raw material demand<\/p>\n

through finished goods movement.\u2022 Hands on experience working in integrated development environments<\/p>\n

\u2022 Hands-on software troubleshooting experience<\/p>\n
