The role of the CNC Applications Engineer is to be the subject matter expert in Citizen Swiss-style and Miyano fixed headstock lathes.\u00a0 They will apply this knowledge to quoting our customer\u2019s specifications, taking into consideration all components that define the machining process.\u00a0 In addition to quoting, they will assist in process development and process improvement of the shop floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Applications & Quoting \u2013 applying their expertise to the quoting process that consists of all machining processes including labor.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Machine & Process Troubleshooting \u2013 Diagnose and resolve set-up and machine operational issue.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Programming & Optimization \u2013 write and edit CNC programs optimizing tool paths, speeds, and feeds to enhance machine efficiencies.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Process Development & Process Improvement \u2013 design and implement manufacturing process for Swiss-style CNC lathe machining. Identify efficiencies that reduce or eliminate secondary, deburring, tumbling processes.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • 100% onsite role<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Tooling & Collet Fixture Design- selecting the appropriate tools, collets, and fixtures that meet the job requirements in the most efficient process.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Quality Assurance- collaborate with Quality Control to define inspections and quality control processes that ensure the finished part meets tolerances and quality standards.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Actively part of operation discussions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Requirements<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • 2-Year Technical Degree in CNC Programming or Engineer Applications<\/span><\/li>\n
    • In-depth knowledge of\u00a0 programming and operating CNC lathes such as Citizens, Tsugami, Star, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Reading and taking blueprints from paper to production through programming, set-up, and quality inspection.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Working in a high precision machining environment<\/span><\/li>\n
    • High aptitude in mathematics<\/span><\/li>\n
    • US Person qualified<\/span><\/li>\n
    • No felony convictions<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Swiss-style CNC lathe setup, programming, and operation, ideally in a production environment<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Strong proficiency with CNC programming (G-code) and knowledge of CAM software. Familiarity with various Swiss lathe brands such as Citizen, Tsugami, and Star.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Experience and understanding of CNC Machine Tool controls, servo systems and mechanical concepts<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Ability to work inside the machines when needed.<\/span><\/li>\n
