“As an integral member of our healthcare team, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) assumes a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care and support to patients with complex medical needs within our hospital\u2019s ICU. This position involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including the continuous monitoring of vital signs, administering emergency response care, and overseeing the meticulous maintenance of life support systems. The ICU RN operates on a 12hr shift schedule, providing coverage from 7.00 am to 7.30 pm or 7.00 pm to 7.30 am, ensuring around-the-clock attention to the critical needs of our patients.<\/p>\n

Job Requirements:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model and achieving the organization\u2019s nursing vision and strategy.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Complies with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Utilizes aspects of the nursing process such as assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to coordinate outcome-focused patient care.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Establishes a caring, therapeutic relationship with patients and families through effective communication, acknowledgement of patient\/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes.<\/p>\n

\u2022 The ability to perform a range of task perform a range of tasks including (but not limited to) diagnostic tests, conducting follow-up visits, monitoring patient recovery, and responding to medical emergencies.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Knowledge of the latest medical equipment and nursing techniques in order to operate, monitor, and maintain equipment utilized in the critical care setting such as ventilators, IABP, etc.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Clean and redress surgical sites and other wounds<\/p>\n

\u2022 Monitor the patient\u2019s vital signs and recovery closely<\/p>\n

\u2022 Maintain medical records and file required reports on each case<\/p>\n

\u2022 Actively participates in the creation and operationalization of quality improvements to promote clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and care outcomes.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assumes an active role in the development and achievement of department goals.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Undertake other responsibilities as needed\/assigned.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Able to work various hours as needed<\/p>\n

\u2022 The ability to remain calm under pressure<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/p>\n

\u2022 ADN, BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program is preferred.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Valid and Active RN license is required<\/p>\n

\u2022 BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association.<\/p>\n

\u2022 ICU work experience is an added advantage.<\/p>\n

\u2022 2 + years of nursing experience( ICU or PACU preferred)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ability to work variable hours.<\/p>\n
