Global Technical Services Manager \u2013 Liquid Systems<\/p>\n

Location: Germany<\/p>\n

The Role<\/p>\n

We are looking for a senior technical leader to build and lead our global Technical Services function for Carbon Black in Inks, Paints & Coatings.<\/p>\n

You will establish an elite, application-driven and customer-facing organization that accelerates product qualification and commercialization, solves complex formulation challenges, and translates market needs into clear R&D and product roadmaps.<\/p>\n

As the senior technical authority, you will represent the voice of the customer internally and connect Sales, Marketing, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory and Product Stewardship. Fluent German and English required for senior customer engagement and cross-functional leadership.<\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n

Technical Leadership & Customer Interface<\/p>\n

Act as global technical authority for carbon black in inks and coatings<\/p>\n

Lead advanced troubleshooting (dispersion, flocculation, rheology, jetness, gloss, undertone, filterability, rub resistance)<\/p>\n

Design and execute DoE for customer trials and scale-up<\/p>\n

Provide authoritative grade selection guidance<\/p>\n

Applications & Lab Excellence<\/p>\n

Define global applications lab strategy and best-practice dispersion standards<\/p>\n

Standardize critical test methods and performance benchmarks<\/p>\n

Build structured application data systems for faster technical recommendations<\/p>\n

Product & Portfolio Enablement<\/p>\n

Translate Voice of Customer into clear NPI briefs and application specifications<\/p>\n

Partner with R&D on surface chemistry, structure optimization and dispersibility<\/p>\n

Develop application maps and recommendation matrices by segment<\/p>\n

Quality, Complaints & Manufacturing Interface<\/p>\n

Own technical complaint resolution and robust root cause analysis<\/p>\n

Strengthen plant alignment on critical-to-quality parameters<\/p>\n

Improve consistency, reduce Cost of Quality and enhance perceived product stability<\/p>\n

Market & Technical Branding<\/p>\n

Represent the company at conferences and customer technology events<\/p>\n

Develop technical papers, webinars and tools supporting Sales<\/p>\n

Organization & Operations<\/p>\n

Build and mentor a high-performance global team<\/p>\n

Establish KPIs, SLAs and global operating rhythm<\/p>\n

Manage lab budgets and technical investments<\/p>\n

Candidate Profile<\/p>\n

Master\u2019s or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering<\/p>\n

10+ years experience in carbon black for inks and\/or coatings<\/p>\n

Proven technical leadership in global customer-facing roles<\/p>\n

Deep expertise in dispersion science, rheology, color science and application testing<\/p>\n

Strong understanding of regulatory and product stewardship requirements<\/p>\n

Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills<\/p>\n
