The role focuses on crafting realistic engineering design tasks where a model must make genuine trade-offs, size components, and iterate against physics-based simulators to meet competing specifications.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Design and validate simulation-based engineering problems that require true design reasoning, with clear constraints and optimization goals.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">\u00a0Deliver complete problem sets including reference solutions, near-miss variants, edge cases, and documentation, ensure appropriate difficulty with multiple failure modes, and collaborate with researchers to refine problems based on model performance.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Domain Tracks<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">You should have deep design expertise in at least one of the following; expertise spanning multiple tracks is a strong plus.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Electrical &amp; Computer Engineering \u2014 analog\/mixed-signal IC design, power electronics, RF\/microwave, digital system design, FPGA\/ASIC, embedded systems.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Mechanical Engineering \u2014 structural\/thermal\/fluid system design, mechanism design, HVAC, vibration\/dynamics, manufacturing process design.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Chemical Engineering \u2014 reactor design, process design and optimization, separation systems, transport phenomena, combustion and thermochemistry.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Control Systems \u2014 classical and modern control design, state estimation, nonlinear and robust control, system identification.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Materials \/ Nano \u2014 materials selection under constraints, microstructure-property design, thin-film and nanoscale device design.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Engineering Physics \/ Optics \u2014 optical system design, photonic device design, laser systems, wave propagation and interference.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Aerospace Engineering \u2014 aerodynamic design, propulsion sizing, orbital mechanics, flight dynamics and stability, structural design for aerospace loads.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Civil \/ Structural Engineering \u2014 structural member and connection design, foundation design, seismic\/wind loading, geotechnical design.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Nuclear \/ Energy \u2014 reactor core design, shielding, thermal-hydraulics, renewable energy system sizing, grid-scale storage design.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Systems Engineering \u2014 system architecture trade studies, requirements decomposition, interface design, multi-subsystem integration.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Robotics \u2014 kinematic\/dynamic design, motion planning, actuator and sensor selection, mechatronic system integration.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Required Qualification:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Master\u2019s or PhD in a relevant engineering\/applied science field.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">3+ years of hands-on engineering design experience, producing validated designs from competing specs (not just analysis).<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Proficient in at least one open-source simulation tool relevant to the domain.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Strong Python (or equivalent) scripting skills.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">High attention to detail across units, boundary conditions, convergence, and physical realism.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Nice to Have<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Experience designing engineering coursework, exam problems, or design challenges at graduate level.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Familiarity with CI\/CD pipelines or automated testing frameworks.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Exposure to LLM evaluation, AI benchmarking, or training data curation.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Cross-domain familiarity with Control Systems, Embedded\/Robotics, or Power Systems.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Evaluation Process<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Shortlisted candidates will be sent a Job Interest Form.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-raw-html=\"span\">Shortlisted candidates will receive a Job Interest Form.
